The exhibition reflects the social-economic development and the population in this region. The accent is on the progress in the development of the crafts- homespun tailoring, pottery, works of coppersmiths, wood-carvers, and goldsmiths. Women's adornments such as earrings, rings, and wedding garlands are exhibited. They are decorated with pendants, mother-of pearl, and colored glass. In this way they demonstrate the tasteful skills of goldsmiths.
The style of living, national dress and textiles are shown in the exhibition. A beautiful collection of icons focuses visitors' attention. The works of masters from Tryavna, Debar, and "Triptych School" predominate in the collection.
The rich documents and materials offer a good look at the preparation of the biggest Bulgarian uprising to the first half of the 19th Century- the uprising in 1850, which was centered in Belogradchik. |
